We look at destinations that have potential for being a regional knowledge-economy hub. Other criteria include the government's commitment for knowledge-based development, the ICT infrastructure and the availability of knowledge workers or the ability to attract knowledge workers.

SmartCity's components include intelligent buildings offering office space as well as residential, retail, hospitality and recreational facilities which provide both a high-quality work environment and lifestyle for knowledge workers.
